At Ella Rises we inspire Latina youth with hope, confidence, and purpose; to continue their education, become community leaders, and preserve their cultural heritage. As our participants engage in Ella Rises, we will facilitate virtual and in-person workshops inspired by Hispanic heritage and administered by skilled Latina mentors and other role models. We believe Ella Rises will impact the lives of our participants, their families, and our communities with unity, bridging cultural differences, and an empowering cycle of progress.
MEET THE TEAM
Nadia was born in Tijuana, Mexico and grew up in Southern California. She moved to Utah for college and has since stayed, for the most part. It was while living in Mexico City for a few years as a family that the idea of Ella Rises was born. Nadia connected deeply with her heritage and saw it in a different light from when she was growing up in the U.S. Her roots empower her and motivate her and hopes yours will do the same for you. She is excited to work with many amazing people to bring you Ella Rises.
Claudia grew up in Los Angeles after her family emigrated from Michoacán, Mexico. She is a powerful woman and leader who graduated from Cal State L.A. In addition to dedicating her time and energy to her husband and two amazing children, she also helps students as a social worker in the Provo City School District as a member of the Diversity and Equity team. Claudia gladly dedicates a meaningful amount of time to Ella Rises to support these impressive girls in their dreams.
In 2020, all workshops and events were provided free of charge thanks to donations and a RAP tax grant.
Ella Rises has partnered with United Way and thanks them for supporting their organization and helping with operating costs. If you'd like to donate, every little bit helps and your contributions make an impact on our Latina youth and future Latina leaders. Donations through United Way are tax exempt.
